I’m sorry; I’m confused by your note. I’ve stopped posting my plot speculations, even when you encourage me, Gail! Is it because I mentioned Charuvia Spim being in the episode? That’s the only thing I can imagine. But I don’t see the harm since, (1) that’s hardly a spoiler, and I said nothing beyond her appearance, and (2) this chat section is for listeners to discuss this episode! If folks don’t want to know anything about what happened, they shouldn’t be reading here!! I know I’ve avoided sections before I listen to the corresponding episode, just so I don’t see something I don’t want to.
Of course, if that was a joke of some sort, I take it back. I hope you like the opal earrings I got you for Christmas. D’oh!!!
I think maybe Zan’s recent -SNIP-ing has had the unintended effect of chilling any discussion that might vaguely resemble a spoiler. (BTW- I’ve had even more thoughts about the Vagabond, but my lips are sealed!) I ‘m really surprised by your comment, which seems like a bit of a put-down. But I must say, Gail, I’ve always enjoyed our give-and-take, and I’m really glad you spell my name with three ‘e’s, as it should be. That has always impressed me. Thanks!
Vibeeen - I thought a while about any possible answer to your posts and came up with that one and thought it might amuse. There’s never any point in wondering what I meant. Writing is freaking hard work and it’s all I can do to say what I mean.
(How sweet, I have always wanted to like opals, just as soon as I had some of my very own.)
I’m thinking the name is spelled Cheruvia, but I have already proven I am challenged when it comes to Aussie phonics. I could not find her name written in any previous episode.
As far as the spelling of Vibeeen, I noticed what I thought was a typo over at Bob’s Yer Uncle, and then saw that you spelled it that way yourself. Consistently, so I went with it.
Steve Martin said, “Language is the most difficult….. So few people…… really speak……. with………… pizazz…. You know what I’m saying?”
Thanks for the follow-up, Gail. I’m glad it was just a joke!
I wonder if Cheruvia Spim is related to Hank and Roy Spim(m), the mightily beweaponed Aussie hunters of small, inoffensive game (such as the mosquito), and made famous by the Monties of Python?
Well, learn something new every day. I thought: “Australia! Australia! Australia! We love you! Amen!” was the national anthem as rendered by whatever group that was.
Now I have the words, the punctuation, and the name of the group. Not to mention a link (thanks)! It’s amazing how the printed page completely fails to capture the rowdiness of the skit.

Yet another character I wrote off too soon. Tut, tut. I loved the “you’ve presented yourself well” comment.
The transportation was entirely fabulous.

I agree. Zan, I love your Peruvia Spim voice!

Sorry, I meant CHAruvia… Oh, I can’t spell these names…

Sheesh, Vibeeen, I bet you tell everybody what you got them for Christmas, too.

And there was me, thinking Jeruvia Spim…

You have revealed a huge gap in my education, I thought all the Aussies on Monty Python were named Bruce.
Any way we spell it, it’s a fun name to say. I like the J. Zan left an overview of the story not so long ago and that’s where I bet I saw it.
